6000 trees planted: 50 survive

Meanwhile not even one single tree had survived of their previous investment and not even one single representative of the Prince Claus Foundation had ever put a foot in Djenné in order to check how their money had been used.  They had simply trusted the Mission Culturelle’s representative, whose reports would be most interesting to see. Surely there must have been pictures of trees in order to have obtained the new financing ?
Of the new 3000 trees planted on the Kaniana site in 2013 there are no more than 50 that have survived and that was through the personal effort of someone unrelated to the project who went to the site and watered the trees, feeling uneasy at seeing so many trees die.
